Action in Change: From Local Roots to National Impact

A.I.C. Farms—Action in Change—was founded with a simple yet powerful mission: to end protein deficiency in Rwanda through sustainable, community-centered poultry farming. We believe that real change comes from action, not just intention.

Based in the heart of Rwanda near Kigali, we operate a modern chicken farm that combines traditional Rwandan agricultural wisdom with innovative farming techniques to produce healthy, affordable poultry for local communities.

The Journey of A.I.C. Farms

From a dream to a movement—how we're transforming lives through sustainable poultry farming.

2023

The Spark of an Idea

Our founders witnessed firsthand the devastating effects of protein deficiency in rural Rwandan communities. Children struggling with stunted growth, families unable to afford basic nutrition—this reality demanded action, not sympathy.

2024

Research & Planning

We spent a year studying successful poultry models across East Africa, consulting with agricultural experts, and engaging with local communities to understand their needs. The A.I.C. model was born—Action in Change.

2025

Launch & First Harvest

A.I.C. Farms officially launched in Kigali with our first 1,000 chickens. Within six months, we were supplying affordable protein to 500 families across 4 villages, proving our model works.

2026

Scaling for Impact

Today, we've grown to 5,000+ chickens, 12 partner communities, and 2,400+ families served monthly. Now, we're ready to scale across all provinces of Rwanda—and we need your partnership to make it happen.

Building a Protein-Secure Rwanda

We envision a future where every Rwandan family has access to affordable, nutritious protein sources.

Provide affordable, high-quality chicken protein to communities struggling with nutritional deficiencies, especially targeting childhood stunting.

Economic Empowerment

Create sustainable livelihoods for local farmers through training, partnerships, and fair-trade practices that uplift entire communities.

Environmental Stewardship

Implement eco-friendly farming practices including waste recycling, solar energy, and organic feed to protect Rwanda's beautiful landscapes.

Rwanda's Protein Crisis

Despite significant progress in many areas, Rwanda faces a critical protein deficiency challenge that affects millions.

Child Malnutrition

33%

of children under 5 suffer from chronic malnutrition (stunting), significantly impacting cognitive development and lifetime earning potential.

Protein Gap

85%

of Rwandans consume less than the WHO-recommended daily protein intake of 50g, with rural areas most severely affected.

Affordability Crisis

$4.50

Average cost per kg of chicken—unaffordable for most families earning less than $2/day, making protein a luxury rather than a staple.

Economic Impact

$250M

Estimated annual economic loss due to malnutrition-related productivity decline, healthcare costs, and reduced educational outcomes.

Sustainable Poultry for All

A comprehensive approach to making nutritious chicken accessible and affordable for every Rwandan family.
