Action in Community: From Local Roots to National Impact

A.I.C. Farms—Action in Community—was founded with a simple yet powerful mission: to end protein deficiency in Rwanda through sustainable, community-centered poultry farming. We believe that real change comes from action, not just intention.

Based in the heart of Bugasera District, Rwanda, we operate a modern chicken farm that combines traditional Rwandan agricultural wisdom with innovative farming techniques to produce healthy, affordable poultry for local communities.

The Journey of A.I.C. Farms

From a dream to a movement—how we're transforming lives through sustainable poultry farming.

2023

The Spark of an Idea

Our founders witnessed firsthand the devastating effects of protein deficiency in rural Rwandan communities. Children struggling with stunted growth, families unable to afford basic nutrition—this reality demanded action, not sympathy.

2024

Research & Planning

We spent a year studying successful poultry models across East Africa, consulting with agricultural experts, and engaging with local communities to understand their needs. The A.I.C. model was born—Action in Community.

2025

Launch & First Harvest

A.I.C. Farms officially launched with our first batch of chickens. Within six months, we were supplying affordable protein to 500 families across villages, proving our model works.

2026

Scaling for Impact

Today, we are currently supplying eggs to local communities monthly. We're ready to scale across all provinces of Rwanda in the form of meat chickens + additional services —and we need your partnership to make it happen.

Dorcas Nyiransengiyandemye

CEO & Founder

Dorcas Nyiransengiyandemye is a Rwandan social entrepreneur and McGill University graduate, where she completed her studies in Bioresource Engineering and Agribusiness Entrepreneurship as a Mastercard Foundation scholar in 2022. She is the founder of AIC Farms, an initiative aimed at tackling malnutrition in Rwanda through sustainable poultry farming. Dorcas focuses on providing nutritious food to local communities while promoting economic development and food security in her region.

Kayiranga Dismas

COO & Founder

Kayiranga Dismas, is a passionate and dedicated farmer from Rwanda with a mission to transform local communities through sustainable agriculture. With years of hands-on experience in the field, Dismas has focused on egg farming not just as a means of livelihood, but as a vehicle for social good. His innovative approach promotes eco-friendly practices while ensuring that nutritious eggs are accessible to underserved populations. Dismas believes in the power of agriculture to uplift communities. By distributing eggs at affordable prices, he aims to improve food security and health among families, especially children. His commitment to social responsibility drives him to reinvest profits into local initiatives that empower farmers, support education, and foster entrepreneurship. Through every egg he distributes, Dismas is cultivating not only crops but also hope and opportunity for a brighter future in Rwanda.
